Congratulation: Nova Scotia will not use the Arbitration Act in Family Law

 Hi everybody,

I am pleased to tell you all that our organization has met with Justice Minister Baker in person here in Halifax to discuss our aims and goals.  He has given us very encouraging and positive feedback.

Our basic aim was to obtain a statement that Nova Scotia will not use the Arbitration Act in Family Law.  Minister Baker stated that this will be happening soon, and that our organization will be kept informed of the progress concerning this.  Before a law comes into place, the province is waiting for a release from the Uniform Law Council so that the provincial laws all look the same.

We are obviously very happy with this result, and can only hope that the aforementioned law will come into place soon!

 Congratulations to all,

Just remind you, we have meeting on Monday October 3rd, Law Building Dalhousie University at 5:30 PM room 104.

Hope to see you there.
